1 package onion soup mix (I used Lipton)
3 1/4 cups bread flour
3 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

This bread machine onion bread recipe is for a 2 pound bread machine. Use the basic setting and medium crust.
Follow the instructions that came with your bread machine in terms of which order to add ingredients to your bread machine. However, do be sure to put the soup mix in the liquid so that it can hydrate.
Check on the dough after five or ten minutes of kneading. It should be a smooth, round ball.
If the dough is too dry add liquid a teaspoon at a time until it looks right. If it looks too wet, add flour a tablespoon at a time until it looks right.

Notes

This is a recipe for a 2 pound bread machine. Use the basic, white setting with medium crust for this recipe.

I used Lipton Onion Soup mix. You can use other mixes, but be aware that the salt and sugar can vary by mix. So you may need to adjust the recipe for a different mix.
